Informed Consent

A patient's voluntary agreement to undergo a procedure after being fully briefed on the nature of the treatment, material risks, realistic expected outcomes, and available alternatives. Language barriers can complicate informed consent in cross-border care; an independent interpreter or translated documentation is advisable.
